30 years of togetherness.

In a day and age when marriages fall apart in the blink of an eye, there are anomalies like a couple who have been husband and wife for 30 years. Today, they celebrate 28 years of depression, screaming, yelling, fighting, nagging, taunting, growing old together because they didn't have a choice, and best of all, sticking it out because society and families dictated that that's how it should be. And then they celebrate 2 years of love, caring, joy, happiness, honeymooning, and togetherness out of choice.

30 years. That's a long time to stay in a so-so marriage. But i guess one gets used to it, just like one gets used to having a too hairy body or a colourful past. And then one only need find ways of working around the drudgery of it. It can be done. These two are proof of it, just like i know a few other couples who are.

So anyway, many congratulations, you two, on not listening to what your heart wanted, not giving in to the temptation to break free and start over, and making do with whatever little love was thrown your way.
