Yellolo!

I'm back in town after a week of travelling, and can i say that i'm physically and emotionally exhausted? Physically tired in a good way - although i DO desperately need three days of uninterrupted sleep.

Aurangabad was full of sleeplessness from the word Go, with early morning flights and early morning trips to places one MUST visit in and around the city. I'm also as browned as a turkey just out of the oven. You'd think that there would be no hot places in India in December, but my God are you wrong! The heat in Aurangabad was sweltering and sharp and designed to char people. There was a lot of walking and trekking in the heat. More on that in a different post, with plenty of pictures.

Add to that a spur-of-the-moment decision (not my style when it comes to travelling, trust me) to fly out to Hyderabad for New Year's Eve, bringing with it two nights of near-sleeplessness because of sitting around talking till 5 in the morning and catching a 7:30 a.m flight from an airport that's halfway to Mars, and we have the poifect recipe for a sick puppy. I think i'm done with my quota of bloody early morning flights for the year.

The emotional strain is also fodder for another post in the future. Maybe.

But altogether, not a bad start to the year at all. The Aurangabad frenzy was followed by a very quiet New Year's Eve with a couple of close friends - no shoo-sha, shor sharaba or crowds. Just the way i wanted it to be.

No resolutions have come of it, but i have grand plans to kick the shite out of the dozen months ahead of me. I'm going to try and squeeze the most out of every day.

Wish me luck.
